- Company Scores High Marks in Social Responsibility and Global Competitiveness
PITTSBURGH, March 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- FORTUNE magazine has once again named Bayer as one of the "World's Most Admired Companies" in its annual survey of top industry executives. Survey respondents are asked to rank the world's largest companies within nine industry categories ranging from quality of management to innovation to investment value.
Bayer ranked No. 4 on the chemicals industry list with a score of 6.36, slightly higher than last year's score of 6.33. Regarding specific categories within the chemicals industry, Bayer ranked No. 2 in the areas of global competitiveness and social responsibility.
"Bayer is proud to be recognized again by FORTUNE as one of the most admired chemical companies in the world," said Jerry MacCleary, president, Bayer MaterialScience LLC. "Our mission, 'Science For A Better Life,' is all about providing value to our customers, our investors, our communities, and our employees. This reputation ranking is one way we know we are on the right track."
According to FORTUNE, the "Most Admired" list is widely considered the definitive report card on corporate reputations.
