Barefoot Books Opens Flagship Store and Community Center in Concord, Massachusetts
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Barefoot Books, the award-winning independent children's publisher with offices in Cambridge, MA and Bath, England, announced today that it has moved its Best of Boston® bookstore in Cambridge to its new flagship location in the literary hub of Concord, Massachusetts. The new Barefoot Books store is located at 89 Thoreau Street, across from the Concord train depot.
Designed in the imaginative and colorful style that the publisher is known for, the new store brings Barefoot Books to life in a magical community center where families and friends can gather to experience live storytelling, music, arts and crafts, yoga, and much more. With more than 2,300 square feet, 35% more than the Cambridge location, the new Concord store provides ample room for community events and activities, as well as birthday parties.
Barefoot Books Co-founder and CEO, Nancy Traversy comments, "My family is delighted to bring Barefoot to the community we have been part of for nearly a decade, and to offer something more than just a children's bookstore to this wonderfully vibrant and literary town. For nearly twenty years, Barefoot Books has been promoting creativity, imagination, and global awareness through a grassroots international community of parents, grandparents, librarians, and educators. We created our new store with this philosophy in mind and hope that it will become a destination for locals and visitors as a colorful and happy place for families and friends to spend time together having fun and sharing stories."
The Barefoot Books Concord store is a true destination bookstore and community center. Visitors of all ages are encouraged to linger as they browse through the independent publisher's collection of more than 400 titles, in addition to puppets, puzzles, games, dress-ups, and more. They can also participate in an array of creative activities not typically found in most children's book stores.
When you step inside, a life-sized, colorful Storyteller's Caravan and magical Storyteller's Throne beckon children to join in imaginative journeys to faraway places. The adjoining Reading Room features a beautiful banquette with brightly colored tables and chairs where visitors can enjoy a cup of coffee or participate in one of the many activities on offer, including art workshops, evening parenting classes, music and movement, and even yoga for kids. The visual treat continues when you step outside the store, with colorful French bistro tables and chairs, and a whimsical garden where families can read with their children or enjoy an ice cream from local favorite Bedford Farms across the street. All in all, the Barefoot Books Flagship Store and Community Center offers a unique and unforgettable family experience not to be missed.
