TEC® Infrared Grills introduced the world's first infrared gas grill in the early 1980's. This grilling system used the same type ceramic burners that other grill manufacturers put in their infrared grills today. These grills cook with about 35% infrared energy and 65% hot air. But TEC's patented, new, cutting edge technology cooks food with 100% infrared energy, totally eliminating the hot air associated with grilling that dries out food. The new TEC® grills reduce moisture loss in food by up to 35% while imparting an authentic charbroil flavor.
Taking TEC's center stage at the festival will be the new G-Sport, TEC's most versatile and affordable full size grill. Introduced last spring, the G-Sport won Hearth and Home Magazine's VESTA award for Best New Gas Barbeque of 2009. This grill offers the highest and the lowest grilling temperatures of any infrared grill today. On high fire settings, the G-Sport cooks with greater intensity and speed than other infrared grills. Food sears more rapidly but seldom sticks, creating restaurant like grill marks on meats and vegetables for the ultimate presentation. On low fire, the G-Sport cooks dramatically cooler than traditional infrared grills, allowing food to be slow roasted, smoked or barbequed.
Memphis' roots are deep in barbeque and music in flavors and rhythms unique to the city, and the Beale Street Music Festival, part of the month long Memphis in May International Festival, was founded in 1977 to celebrate this rich Southern heritage.
