Award-winning Filmmaker and Virtual Reality Visionary/Futurist Brett Leonard To Speak at the 2016 Samsung Developer Conference about his VR projects "The Futurist", "Lawnmower Man Reborn", and his "5 Laws of VR"
PGA "Digital 25" Recipient and award-winning director of "Lawnmower Man" (the hit sci-fi film that introduced the concept of Virtual Reality to global audiences) Brett Leonard will be a featured speaker at the 2016 Samsung Developer Conference in San Francisco
LOS ANGELES, April 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Award-winning director of the first feature film to introduce the concept of Virtual Reality, "Lawnmower Man", to announce his current VR/TV project "The Futurist", co-created with Rob Weiss (writer/producer of HBO's hit shows "Entourage" and "Ballers"), with the concurrent VR game being created with VR game company The Rogue Initiative (headed up by "Call of Duty" producer Pete Blumel, and Cathy Twigg). Brett will also announce his development of the follow-up to his hit film "Lawnmower Man", with the working title "Lawnmower Man Reborn". Brett will also announce the formation of a premiere Virtual Reality content studio, Virtuosity Entertainment, which he has co-founded with Scott Ross (who in the past headed up ILM and Lucas Film, and co-founded Digital Domain with James Cameron). Brett will also discuss his focus on creating an ethical framework for the new mediums of VR/AR, speaking about his "5 Laws of VR" at this conference publicly for the first time.
The conference will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco on April 27th and 28th. In addition to talking about the subjects outlined above, Brett will be taking questions from the audience in an "Ask Me Anything" session.
