Avondale Partners Expands Municipal Bond Trading Department with Addition of Public Finance Veterans Emily Evans and Terry Thornber
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Avondale Partners, a national investment banking and wealth management firm headquartered in Nashville, today announced that Emily Evans and Terry Thornber have joined the firm as Vice Presidents in the company's Municipal Bond Trading Department.
Evans will be responsible for research and analytics for state and local bond issuers, and Thornber will cover institutional and dealer account sales. They will work in Avondale's Nashville headquarters joining Managing Director Richard Sale who launched the firm's municipal bond operation in July 2011.

Evans has more than 20 years experience working in municipal underwriting and finance. She began her career at Glickenhaus & Co., New York City and subsequently worked at J.C. Bradford & Co. until its sale to UBS/Painewebber in 2000. Since 2000, Evans has done consulting work with several local governments and broker-dealers in the Southeast. She received her B.A. in Art History and Economics from Mount Holyoke College. She currently holds an elected position representing Metro Council District 23, which includes parts of West Nashville.
Thornber brings more than 30 years experience in the securities industry, including serving as director of dealer sales with RBC Capital Markets Corporation from 2003-2008. Prior to RBC, he held municipal dealer sales positions with Stephens Inc., J.C. Bradford & Co., Raymond James & Associates and ABN AMRO Investments. Since 2009, he has worked as a consultant advising institutional accounts and individual clients on municipal bond and personal wealth management matters. He also served as a market maker with the Chicago Board of Options and Chicago Board of Trade for seven years early in his career. Thornber earned his B.S. in Engineering from the Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI.
