Aviat Networks Demonstrates Advanced NetBoss XT® Solution at the TM Forum's Technology Catalyst in Nice, France
New innovative features designed to improve overall quality-of-service for customers
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aviat Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: AVNW), the leading wireless expert in advanced IP migration solutions, announced today it will showcase NetBoss XT during one of the world's most prestigious technology forums in Nice, France May 18-20. The new NetBoss XT product also marks a significant milestone in the transformation of Aviat Networks from microwave communications leader to a global network solutions provider.
Aviat Networks' NetBoss XT 3.0 is another innovation from a team well versed in developing market-leading service assurance solutions in wireless, broadband, fixed and converged networks. The unveiling of NetBoss XT 3.0 during the TM Forum's Technology Catalyst recognizes the network management software's groundbreaking suite of technologies designed to improve and advance quality-of-service for customers.
For the past five years, Aviat Networks has been a partner in the development of the TM Forum's Harmony Catalyst project, which is a collaborative industry effort to improve quality-of-service management in new technology solutions. Harmony Catalyst demonstration projects have been reviewed by industry experts as leading examples of technology solutions addressing the most important marketplace issues.
"In order to manage churn and improve the relationship with customers, Communication Service Providers (CSPs) are developing solutions that focus on customer experience," said Patrick Kelly, Research Director at Analysys Mason. "The Service Management abilities delivered in NetBoss XT from Aviat Networks help CSPs translate network resource alarms and data into service impact views and customer impact views. This allows service providers to react to customer problems quickly and have a positive impact on the business."
Aviat Networks' continued enhancements to the NetBoss operating system are based on real-time feedback from a growing customer base. NetBoss XT also forms the core operating system in Aviat Networks' state-of-the-art Network Operation Center (NOC) in the Research Triangle Park in North Carolina, designed to provide complete outsourced Managed Services to customers around the world.
"The advanced features of NetBoss XT are customized to serve the customer and meet market needs at a time when every service provider encounters higher expectations to maintain quality, error-free network services," said Keith Donahue, vice president, Global Network Services. "The industry recognition from experts at the TM Forum clearly differentiates the quality and value of Aviat Networks' new suite of network tools combined in NetBoss XT."
By combining the latest technologies as well as open industry standards - the core of the NetBoss XT solution - the product delivers improved return-on-investment as well as lowered operating expenses with a new software interface and the flexibility to work on several platforms. Among the major advanced features of NetBoss XT 3.0:
- Service management: This software enhancement allows customers to obtain a detailed view of problems at the service and customer level to make efficient repair decisions by deploying targeted resources.
- Clustering: This feature prevents single hardware point failure that can occur on servers and allows customers to scale their network without touching the existing equipment. Additional servers can be added individually to meet processing needs and manage load balance.
- NetBoss XT Agent Development Environment (XADE): NetBoss XT's allows customers to create their own agents for their networks and to use XADE GUI tools instead of programming languages for agent creation. This provides cost-of-ownership benefits as well as differentiated monitoring and reporting for service assurance.
