Aventura Mall to Debut New Three-Level Expansion Wing Later This Year

Highlighting the new wing will be a two-level Topshop Topman store, marking the British brand's arrival to Miami, Florida.

The new wing also will feature the much-anticipated return of Zara to Aventura Mall. The 34,000+ square-foot, two-level store will include an array of men's, women's and children's collections. Pomellato and Under Armour also will open in the wing. Additional retailers will be announced in the coming months.

Designed by renowned architect Carlos Zapata, the wing's three key design points – transparency, connectivity and integration – will provide a completely unique experience for visitors. An 84-foot by 50-foot glass wall at the entrance will offer panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. A continuous 350-foot skylight runs the length of the wing, providing natural lighting and stunning views of the rooftop terrace.

An open-air, lushly-landscaped piazza will be defined by eye-catching architecture and populated by contemporary art, people and nature. It will provide shaded, inside-outside dining experiences from an array of inviting restaurants and cafes, including CVI.CHE 105, Serafina, Pubbelly Sushi, Harry's Pizzeria, Blue Bottle and more to come.

Arts Aventura Mall: An Interactive Journey
Building upon Aventura Mall's already existing collection of museum-quality works of contemporary art, the new wing offers observation points for visitors to enjoy and experience transformative, site-specific installations typically reserved for galleries and museums.

As they arrive at the soaring, cantilevered porte cochere, guests will be awed by the monumental, nearly 93-foot tubular, Aventura Slide Tower by Carsten Höller that can be enjoyed from a distance, or inside while actually sliding down the sculpture – an experience Höller likens to "an emotional state…somewhere between delight and madness." In the piazza, Gorillas in the Mist, is a whimsical public work by The Haas Brothers designed expressly for Aventura Mall. Comprised of three large-scale bronze monkeys and four massive bronze trees, the piece will functionally circulate water, creating a space that is peaceful, evocative and amusing for families.

Indoors, Wendell Castle's Veiled in a Dream experiments with innovative techniques and a recent interest in bronze to create a sculpture that doubles as a seat. Miami-based Mark Handforth's towering, free-standing Blackbird sculpture utilizes the form of a bent clothes hangar as a creative examination of everyday life.

Continually evolving, the Arts Aventura Mall collection currently includes pieces by Louise Bourgeois, Ugo Rondinone, Daniel Arsham, Jorge Pardo, Jaume Plensa and more.

Treats Food Hall: A Culinary Destination

A welcome departure from traditional food courts, the new wing's fresh and original Treats Food Hall will be both refined and seamlessly connected to its natural surroundings. Enhanced by dramatic views and illuminated by natural light, the unconventional enclave will be at once energized and calming.

Situated on the third level, Treats Food Hall will feature a curated collection of more than a dozen purveyors for guests to enjoy. Each will provide a distinctive design and culinary approach, while abundant communal seating, including swings, intimate banquettes and shared bar tables, will be interspersed around the space. There also will be a separate terrace for those wishing to dine al fresco.

A Stylish VIP Escape

Perched atop Aventura Mall's expansion, the 7,000+ square-foot VIP Lounge will set new standards for retail hospitality and serve as a luxurious home away from home for visitors. Flowing from the beautifully landscaped rooftop terrace, the transportive oasis provides a private ambiance and refines the interior/exterior interplay experienced throughout the wing.

An energized central lounge will include defined spaces for guests to play pool and watch TV, comfortably relax and read, and enjoy planned activities. A dining and bar area opens onto the terrace, where a signature shading element offers a perfect spot to sip and snack. The terrace, as well as conference rooms, will be available for groups to meet and mingle, as well as host private functions.
