AT&T Sponsors Earthfest 2010 and Its Mission to Promote Sustainability Awareness in Cresskill
CRESSKILL, N.J., April 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T today praised organizers and fellow sponsors of Earthfest 2010 for providing inspiring activities and valuable information on how to make the local community more sustainable.
"At AT&T, we're deeply committed to environmental sustainability, and we appreciate the opportunity to again be involved in an event that is as engaging and informative as Earthfest 2010," said Michael Swan, AT&T senior manager of Environment, Health and Safety and chairman of the Cresskill Environmental Commission (CEC).
"Last year, AT&T honored the organizers of Earthfest with the AT&T Champions of the Environment Award, and we are delighted that the event has become a tradition that serves our community and our youth," he said.
Earthfest 2010, organized by the Cresskill Environmental Commission (CEC) and Cresskill Educational Foundation (CEF), will be held April 24 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Cresskill Community Center, 100 3rd Street.
J. Michael Schweder, President, AT&T New Jersey, noted that "AT&T is thrilled to again work with the Cresskill community. We are excited for this opportunity to engage in community clean-up events, showcase new more eco-friendly technologies, and continue the effort to promote environmental sustainability."
Participants in Earthfest 2010 can enjoy a community clean-up activity, family bike ride, historic and pet walk, a birds of prey show, live entertainment, and sustainability exhibits from various sponsors and not-for-profit organizations. AT&T invites guests to visit the company's exhibit that features a compressed natural gas-powered Ford van that is part of the AT&T's alternative-fuel fleet.
The festival is designed to raise awareness about Earth Day, and local and global environmental issues and solutions. Organizers said all proceeds, after expenses, will be administered by the CEF and go to help support environmental and educational programs and initiatives for Cresskill public school students.
