LOUISVILLE, Ky., Aug. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T* today announced that Hood Harris has been named president of AT&T Kentucky. Harris most recently served as AT&T deputy regional vice president of public affairs.

As president of AT&T Kentucky, Harris will oversee the company's local, state and federal government relations efforts in the Commonwealth in addition to working closely with community and business leaders, elected officials and others at AT&T to continue to bring advanced communications technologies, including mobile 4G LTE** and other broadband services, to consumers and businesses.

In his most recent position at AT&T, Harris directed the company's public affairs efforts in the southeastern United States, including strategy development and implementation of AT&T's key legislative and regulatory initiatives. A veteran of national, state and local political campaigns, Harris also has served as chief of staff at the Business Council of Alabama where he advised organization leadership on public policy and political issues impacting the business community. He previously served as chief of staff for Congressman Robert Aderholt in Washington DC.
Harris is a graduate of Auburn University where he studied engineering. He is married to Heather Harris and they have one son, Rutledge, who was born in 2012. Harris' appointment is effective immediately and he will have offices in Louisville and Frankfort.
