AT&T Delivers Contribution to Support Child Education in Mexico
MEXICO CITY, March 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T* announced today a contribution of US$10,000 to Exito para Ninos in Mexico, the local chapter of Success For Kids Foundation (SFK), to help provide children and youth with the skills to manage life's challenges.
AT&T's contribution will support SFK's educational program to provide free, after school courses that teach real-life skills to children ages 8 to 12. During the course of 21 classes, students learn how to make better choices and develop problem solving skills by understanding the importance of the consequences of their actions and caring about themselves and others. Students learn that one of their purposes in life is to identify and share their inner gifts and strengths with the world. Success in SFK is "being the best you can be." The lessons are designed to ensure that concepts introduced in early classes continue to be refined and developed through later real-life application.
"Exito para Ninos is thankful for AT&T's contribution, which will allow about a hundred Mexican children to participate in these courses. With AT&T's support, we will be able to continue teaching children the impact of their everyday choices enabling them to meet life's challenges, focus on their goals and become responsible members of our community," said Lillian Sacal, Program Director Exito para Ninos in Mexico.
"AT&T is pleased to collaborate with the efforts of Exito para Ninos to help children in our community. This support also extends the commitment of our employees as they have offered their individual contributions and volunteer work to the organization," said Walter Bona, sales center vice president for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, AT&T Business Solutions.
