Adds Comic Book Programming, Moves to Four Days of Programming
ATLANTA, May 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Atlanta's Animation and Gaming Convention, MomoCon, held during Memorial Day Weekend (May 23-25, 2014), concluded their 10th successful event with a flurry of announcements about next year's MomoCon. A new venue was announced along with an expansion to four days and an addition of comic book programming. This year's MomoCon was held for the first time in two hotels, the Atlanta Hilton and the Marriott Marquis. The convention has received overwhelmingly positive feedback and saw over 20% attendance growth to over 14,600 attendees.
MomoCon has grown so large that they are heading to the Georgia World Congress Center in 2015! "We continue to grow, but always we focus on the quality of experience for animation and gaming fans," said convention founder and Internal Co-Chair of MomoCon, Jess Merriman," and moving to the GWCC provide great way to give the fans more of what they love about MomoCon."
To expand that experience, MomoCon is moving to four days of activities, May 28th - 31st 2015. Membership is already available for early bird rate for $40 for all 4 days.
MomoCon is very happy to announce the introduction of Comic Book programming and guests to their line-up for Comic Con style events in addition to the Anime Con style events from previous years. Said Media Relations Director Dan Carroll, "We started with anime and added American animation programming, which has been very well received. Adding comic books is a move similar to Japanese Manga, which we have celebrated since the start."
"Agreements are in place already with hotels around the GWCC to provide ready access to the convention for our members," Chris Stuckey, External Co-Chair of MomoCon said. "our website is already able to process your membership and arrange your hotel reservation." MomoCon 2015 has already announced five host hotels: the Omni Hotel, the Embassy Suites Atlanta, the Glenn Hotel, the Holiday Inn express, and the Westin Peachtree. All the hotels are convenient to the GWCC and ready to host the attendees of the fan convention.
MomoCon is famous for the broad roster of anime and gaming guests, and next year's MomoCon will not disappoint. They have already announced guests Steve Blum, Little Kuriboh, Crispin Freeman, Greg Weisman, and Keith David as guests with many more to be announced through the year.
