ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, American Trucking Associations announced that Gina McCarthy, head of the Environmental Protection Agency, would be attending the annual ATA Management Conference & Exhibition next week in San Diego.
"The EPA is a very important agency to trucking," said ATA President and CEO Bill Graves. "With the upcoming second round of truck fuel efficiency standards, as well as the 10th anniversary of the SmartWay Transport Partnership, McCarthy's attendance at MC&E is both timely and relevant to our industry."
McCarthy is expected to attend the final general session of MC&E, which will feature a ceremony for the SmartWay Excellence Award and a panel on the impacts of congestion on the trucking industry.
"MC&E was already a tremendously important meeting for trucking executives," Graves said. "The fact that Administrator McCarthy has been added to the program only makes it moreso."
