Astronest takes place in a future that's on the edge of disaster.  Human beings have lost their ancestral home, the planet Earth, due to their own hubris and environmental negligence.  But they've gained a new frontier: space.  The race was on to find a way to sustain life out in the barren reaches of the galaxy, when a new resource called cosment was discovered. With cosment, planets could be transformed into livable environments.  In an ideal universe this would have marked the beginning of utopia.  But the Terra and Neos factions are both determined to monopolize the resource, so that their own vision of humanity's future becomes reality.

Players can choose to play as either faction, building their own indomitable fleet, creating their own empire, and facing off against their enemies.  They will hire heroes, research technology, raise cities on new planets, and manage resources in order to become an intergalactic empire. Unlike competing games like Galactic Heroes, Astronest has a completely new, redesigned UI for the ultimate experience in elegant and intuitive game play. 

Astronest will also feature raid bosses, tron manufacturing, and the option to win items by playing through scenarios.  Players can even get alien loot from raid bosses, which they can research in order to learn alien weapons and technology. The hero system has been considerably expanded, with new heroes and even more opportunities for diversified hero development.
