Assets Of Oscar-Winning Visual Effects Company Being Auctioned
--Tiger Group selling multimedia display, office furniture and film equipment formerly owned by Rhythm & Hues
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., July 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Bidding is now underway on a wide range of computer graphics workstations, multimedia displays, Aeron chairs and other equipment formerly owned by Rhythm & Hues Inc. in an online sale being conducted by Tiger Group's Remarketing Services Division.
The Academy Award-winning visual effects company voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection in February 2013 in the California Central Bankruptcy Court (case number 2:13-bk-13775-NB) following a decline in its volume of work. In March, a federal bankruptcy judge approved the sale of Rhythm & Hues to a wholly owned affiliate of Prana Studios—an animation and visual effects studio with production offices in Los Angeles and Mumbai, India. The company is now selling certain items, no longer needed for its future operations.
Bidding on the company's former assets at www.SoldTiger.com will close in rapid succession, live auction style, on July 24 at 10:30 a.m. (PT). A preview will be held at 2100 East Grand Ave., El Segundo, on Tuesday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"The deep quantities of quality computers and office furniture make this an ideal sale for both individual buyers and large companies to make some great purchases. With hundreds of identical computer workstations, hundreds of matching Aeron chairs, hundreds of matching desks, and more, companies participating in this sale can completely outfit a new office or do an office makeover," said Jeff Tanenbaum, President of Tiger's Remarketing Services Division.
The hundreds of items of computers and telecommunications equipment being sold include over 150 Dual Core Graphics Computer Workstations with Creative Audigy Audio Cards and GeForce Graphics Cards; Acer, HP and Viewsonic HD and widescreen HD displays up to 24"; Sun & SGI GDM monitors; and Polycom IP330 phones.
Film-related equipment to be sold includes a 2006 Film Light Northlight scanner, an Arri Arrilaser film recorder, and two animation cameras with slides, film and magazines.
Among the hundreds of pieces of office furniture being auctioned are over 300 Herman Miller Aeron chairs, Jerker and Fredricks desks, as well as file cabinets, bookcases and other items.
