PRINCETON, N.J., June 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Church & Dwight, the makers of ARM & HAMMER™ Cat Litter, launched today "Tag a Cat, Save a Life" for the third consecutive year to educate about the importance of tagging cats, which can increase the chances of finding and returning lost pets. Keeping cats safe and happy is a top priority for owners, but when pets venture outdoors, some may not find their way back safely. According to a recent study, approximately less than 2 percent of lost cats make it home and 2.5 to 3.5 million end up in shelters each year[1]. A visible ID tag with the cat's name and owner's phone number increases the chance of being found and returned safely. All cats, including "indoor" cats should be tagged to ensure their safe return home. Church & Dwight is providing in-kind donations to local shelters across the country and offering pet owners personalized ID tags for their cat.
