Arizona College to Offer BSN Program at New Dallas Campus
DALLAS, Aug. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Arizona College is proud to announce the opening of a new campus in Dallas, TX, fully dedicated to nursing education. The Dallas campus will offer students an accelerated three-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program. The campus is now open and is accepting applications for admission to the first cohort who will begin classes on October 22nd, 2018.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau's July 1, 2017 population estimates, the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area's 146,000-population increase was the most of any metro area that year1. In addition, the Texas Center for Nursing Workforce Studies Report on Nurse Supply and Demand Projections 2015-2030 (October 2016) showed a deficit of 3,610 RNs by 2022 and a deficit of 15,688 by 2030 for North Texas2.
"Arizona College is committed to providing access to quality nursing education here in North Texas," said Nick Mansour, President of Arizona College. "Our Dallas campus will help address the metro's need for more nurses and provide the hundreds of qualified students who are turned away from nursing schools in Texas each year, an opportunity to pursue their dreams of becoming registered nurses."
The Arizona College Dallas campus is conveniently located at the High Five Interchange, at 8330 LBJ Freeway and offers stunning panoramic views of the city. The learning environment features four high fidelity simulation labs, nursing skills labs, a science lab, and more. A Learning Resource Center will provide students with access to professional nurse tutors, dedicated support and the instructional resources for both general education and nursing courses.
The Dallas campus will be led by Dr. Cassie DelCheccolo, PhD, RN, CNE, a proven, student-focused nurse leader whose 27-year nursing career has included roles as clinician and educator. "I am honored to serve as the Campus Dean for Arizona College Dallas and look forward to the opportunity of helping our students achieve their dreams of becoming registered nurses. Our staff and faculty are focused on helping our students succeed and becoming exceptional nurse leaders -- at the bedside and in our community," said Dr. DelCheccolo.
