DALLAS, Aug. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- A record crowd of Aprima customers, resellers and business partners filled the Omni Dallas Hotel on August 7–9 for the 2015 Aprima User Conference. Physicians, nurses, practice managers and other practice staff came from all over the country to learn about the latest developments with Aprima Electronic Health Records (EHR), Practice Management (PM) and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). Of particular interest were sessions on Chronic Care Management, Care Plan Oversight, final preparations for ICD-10 and continuing to achieve Meaningful Use and PQRS.
Preceding the conference, many of the registrants opted to participate in one of four day-long 'boot camps;' three were directed at EHR, PM and power users within a practice, and the fourth was a deep dive into Meaningful Use Stage 2, CQMs and PQRS.
The conference kicked off on August 7th with a keynote address by Frank King, who discussed real-world approaches to achieving patient engagement. He used humor and his own personal experiences to help attendees learn the secrets of creating empowering partnerships between patients and providers.
The opening session was followed by a wide range of classes available to all attendees. Participants also took full advantage of opportunities to meet one-on-one with the Aprima support team, CMO Jeff Hyman, MD and COO Neil Simon, CEO Michael Nissenbaum, as well as other Aprima staff and executives. Attendees were also able to meet with a wide range of vendors whose products and services provide valuable add-ons to their Aprima system. The conference Diamond sponsor was Surescripts®. This year, Aprima welcomed Panasonic® and N-Krypt as Platinum Sponsors and Callpointe the Gold Sponsor.
Throughout the conference, attendees were invited to make fleece blankets for children in the ICU at The Children's Medical Center of Dallas. We are very proud to have donated 100 blankets and capes once again this year. Over the past four years, conference attendees have contributed hundreds of blankets and capes, as well as 1,000 activity bags and cash donations to the hospital.
Overall customer reaction to the conference was extremely positive and many attendees were eager to share their experiences and thoughts. Here are just a few.
DeeAnn Sierra, clinical practice manager at Rio Grande Hospital Clinics had this to say about the conference, "We are all in the midst of so many changes in healthcare and several different reporting entities it is nice to have a medical software system who has our back! Aprima has made the transition to ICD-10 almost seamless for us. The Meaningful Use dashboard and workflow is super simple. Each year they look at their product and what they can do to enhance it for us and our patients. I always leave the User Conference learning new short-cuts and refreshers on things we may not use all of the time. Thank you so much for all you do for healthcare!"
All of the Aprima VARs (value-added resellers) participated in the conference. Shawn Miller, president and CEO of ConXit Healthcare Technology Group shared that "As an Aprima reseller, we really appreciate all of the hard work and dedication the Aprima team provided to make this a great User Conference. All of my clients that attended had nothing but great things to say about the conference and they all plan to return next year. It is refreshing to have a great partner like Aprima that is always forward thinking. We look forward to a great 2016!"
