Applied Technical Systems Awarded $13 Million SeaPort-e Task Order for Life Cycle Management Support of Above Water Sensors
SEATTLE, Jan, 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Applied Technical Systems (ATS) announced today that it has been awarded a $13 million task order to design, build and manage the Common Digital Sensor Architecture (CDSA) core system for the U.S. Navy's Above Water Sensors. The competitively awarded three-year base, two-year option task order was awarded under the SeaPort-e contract vehicle.
As part of the Navy's commitment to implementing a total life cycle management approach to the design and deployment of Above Water Sensors, the CDSA program was initiated to improve operational efficiency and reduce total lifetime costs by establishing a common architecture and support process.
Under this task order, ATS will help the Navy achieve its objectives by providing the Naval Surface Weapons Center in Crane, Indiana with engineering development models and a Product Data Management framework for the CDSA core system.
"We are designing the CDSA core system from the ground up for supportability," said David Wachter, President and co-CEO of Applied Technical Systems. "Through collaboration between logisticians, engineers and software analysts, we are developing a seamless Product Data Management environment that is designed to achieve unprecedented levels of system availability and over $1 billion in projected sensor maintenance cost reductions over the system's lifetime."
