Applied Instrument Technologies Opens New Manufacturing Facility
UPLAND, Calif., June 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Applied Instrument Technologies (AIT) announced today that it has opened its new process analyzer manufacturing facility and corporate headquarters, based in Upland, California.
AIT is a worldwide leader in the manufacturing and marketing of process analytical instruments including Analect FTIR, PIONIR Near-Infrared, MGA Mass Spectrometers, FXi Gas Chromatographs and RPM Raman analyzers. These analyzers are used by industry leaders in refining, petrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical and steel industries to optimize their production processes.
The Thompson Group acquired AIT in October 2010 and relocated the company to the new facility in less than six months. Purposely built for manufacturing analytical instrumentation, the energy efficient facility derives over half of its power from solar panels. The facility also houses the corporate headquarters and laboratories for chemical testing, optics, applications and electronics development. At nearly 24,000 square feet the Southern California facility is in close proximity to all of the Los Angeles area airports for convenient access from domestic and international locations.
"The new facility will help sustain continued growth for our process analytical technology," said Joe LaConte, AIT's President. "It will enable us to fulfill our long term commitment to delivering world class products to customers across all the continents."
The Thompson Group, located in Kalispell, Montana, was founded by Raymon F. Thompson, an entrepreneur in the semiconductor industry and the recent controlling shareholder in a $375 million equipment manufacturer. Applied Instrument Technologies, with an installed base of over 2200 systems worldwide, has more than thirty year's experience in manufacturing rugged and reliable process analyzers. AIT has earned recognition for providing high quality products with low maintenance costs.
