Applications for the September ISMPP Certified Medical Publication Professional Exam Now Being Accepted
BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y., July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Applications are now being accepted for the September 2010 Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) examination. Qualified candidates can take the three-hour exam during the September 1-30, 2010 testing window at approved locations around the globe.
In order to earn the CMPP credential, candidates must meet a defined set of education and experience criteria and pass the validated 150-item, multiple-choice, computer-based examination. Open to ISMPP members and non-members alike, CMPP applicants must have either a bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or an equivalent credential and at least two years of demonstrated professional experience in the medical publications field. Alternatively, possessing a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least five years of demonstrated professional experience in the medical publications field also meet eligibility criteria. Once received, the certification is considered valid for five years.
The CMPP credentialing effort not only confirms ISMPP's ongoing commitment to the medical publication planning profession, but also demonstrates to the public and the professional and lay media that the industry is striving towards achieving practices that ensure scientific and professional integrity in medical publications. Holders of the CMPP credential -- at 224 after only three seatings of the exam -- have distinguished themselves by demonstrating their thorough working knowledge of all aspects of medical publishing, including planning, execution, and professional ethics.
