HELSINKI, February 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Citing a desire to focus on his other commitments in the sports world, Antti Pihlakoski has stepped down from his position as a CEO of Footbalance System Ltd. Pihlakoski will remain as a shareholder of Footbalance and transition to a senior advisory role. Footbalance's chairman Mr. Roger Talermo is leading the search for a new CEO. The founder of Footbalance, Mr. Erkki Hakkala, will serve as acting CEO during the search.
"Footbalance is a fast growing company on its way to success and needs the full concentration of the CEO in the future," Pihlakoski summarizes his decision. "It is time for me to focus on my other commitments in the sports world and to spend more time with my family."
Pihlakoski is well-known within the sports community. He currently holds the positions of President of the Finnish Athletics Association and Vice President of the Finnish Olympic Committee.
"Without Antti Footbalance wouldn't be the successful company that it is today. He's helped us grow from a local concept to an international player. I'm happy that Antti will continue as a Senior Adviser," Mr. Hakkala says.
