The winner was announced at the 2013 Funding, Discovery and Monetization Conference held at the San Diego Convention Center
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On September 12 and 13, 2013 the AppShow, in partnership with CONNECT, presented two full days of networking, business development, high-level sessions, speed meetings, CROWDFUNDxSD contest and networking receptions at the San Diego Convention Center. The Funding, Discovery and Monetization Conference was a pivotal event for the digital media industry as it brought together industry leaders with angel and venture funds as well as investment firms looking for opportunities in the social media, applications and mobile digital markets.
During the event, attendees engaged in high level sessions led by industry experts, with the privilege for more candid discussions through fireside chats with keynote speakers facilitating high octane networking. The event boasted significant new business development and contact generation. The AppShow events and publications are committed to the growth and success of entrepreneurs, start-ups and emerging platform app and technology businesses. The FDM Conference addressed their challenges and opportunities at this unprecedented two-day event.
One of the highlights from the FDM Conference was the live pitch event that involved a panel of qualified funding judges. Coordinated by CONNECT and Crowdfunder's CROWDFUNDx San Diego online contest, 8 finalists were selected from a nationwide competition to compete in the live pitch event.
The Master of Ceremonies for the live pitch was Chance Barnett, CEO of CrowdFunder. The panel of judges included a well-rounded group of investors from angel, venture, accelerator and a hedge fund out of New York. The judges were, Gil Demeter from Qualcomm Ventures, Ray Chan from K5Launch, Joe Sofio from Park Point Capital and Brian Jones from Argonaut Management.
…. And the winner is ADAM Inc., developers of MyChamberApp, a highly innovative company that provides mobile, local marketing to small "mom and pop" and mid-level businesses. ADAM "bridges the gap" between 20M small businesses and the 200M active cell phone users in the US. ADAM, Inc. turns your phone into a remote control for buying mobile local marketing.
"We believe that small businesses drive our economy. Properly applying the power of mobile technology is the best way to amplify their current power," states Skyler Sutton, CEO of ADAM Inc. "It is an honor to be rewarded for our hard work for the small businesses in the United States."
"We are proud to host the entrepreneur competition and commend all participants on their energy and enthusiasm for this unique contest," states Andrea Downs, Event Director and President for The AppShow. "We believe that the judges not only recognized ADAM's winning product, but just as importantly, they have a winning sales and marketing strategy already implemented that really set them apart from others in the group."
She continues, "ADAM's application makes gaining revenue for small businesses simple, and their sales and marketing strategy as well as their ability to convey their strategy is simple. I believe their genius and the simplicity is what will make them very successful in their endeavors."
