Amion Offers Enhanced Physician Scheduling App Powered by Doximity
Exclusive Partnership Enables Healthcare Staff to Work More Efficiently
SAN MATEO, Calif., June 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Doximity, the largest online physician network, announced today an expansion of its exclusive technology partnership with Amion, the leading provider of physician scheduling solutions. Doximity's clinical workflow tools allow physicians to quickly connect and securely communicate patient information from the convenience of their mobile devices. The enhanced Amion iOS App powered by Doximity now enables physicians and other healthcare industry professionals to coordinate coverage and send messages, documents and images securely.
According to a 2012 study from Manhattan Research, more than 85 percent of physicians own or use a smartphone in their professional lives. Those physicians previously accessing their Amion schedules via a web browser will enjoy the mobile App's direct and easy-to-navigate format. Schedule updates made on the web are reflected on the App in real-time.
Verified physicians also have in-App access to colleagues' contact information through Doximity's member profiles, including shared direct phone and fax numbers, eliminating time spent on hold with hospital operators. Without leaving the App, Amion users can utilize Doximity's HIPAA-secure messaging service, allowing verified physicians to coordinate patient care and instantly exchange patient notes and other documents.
"Amion's hospital-wide scheduling and on-call contact system is now conveniently accessible on mobile devices," said Jeff Tangney, Doximity founder and CEO. "In addition, the App now features full Doximity profiles for each physician as well as the ability to send and receive HIPAA compliant messages. We are very pleased to continue this exclusive partnership with Amion and will keep building the Amion App to meet the changing needs of the healthcare industry."
"For over 12 years Amion has provided physician groups, residency programs and entire hospitals powerful scheduling and on-call contact tools," said Stuart Karon, president and founder of Amion. "With Doximity, our mobile App now includes secure, reliable messaging and an attractive display that's easy to navigate for small and large schedules alike. We're excited to have Version 2 of the Amion App bring a variety of Doximity's handy physician-oriented tools to our customers' schedules."
