Amilpar -- Membership Grows by 61% and Closed 2009 With More Than 5.1 Million Members After Medial's Acquisition

RIO DE JANEIRO, March 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Amilpar (Bovespa: AMIL3; Bloomberg: AMIL3 BZ and APAR < GO >; Reuters: AMIL3.SA), the largest Managed Care Organization in Brazil, announced today its December 2009 results.

Highlights:

• Total membership stood at 5,133.8 thousand at the end of December 2009, 61.2% up on 4Q08 and 59.6% more than the previous quarter (including Medial's members).

Results (without the effect of 1 month of Medial)

• Adjusted Operating Revenues totaled R$ 4,813.8 million in 2009, 9.8% up on 2008. Fourth-quarter operating revenues registered R$ 1,255.4 million, 8.7% up year-on-year.
• Adjusted EBITDA came to R$ 114.1 million in 4Q09 (9.1% margin) and R$ 388.9 million in the full year (8.1% margin).  
• The Company posted adjusted Net Income of R$ 76.7 million in the fourth quarter, 14.4% down on 4Q08, and R$ 250.4 million in 2009, 16.8% less than in 2008.

Results in accordance with BR GAAP (including 1 month of Medial)

• Adjusted Operating Revenues came to R$ 1,455.6 million in 4Q09, a 26.0% year-on-year improvement and 17.7% more than in 3Q09. Annual revenues stood at R$ 5.014.0 million, 14.3% higher than in 2008.

• Adjusted EBITDA totaled R$ 97.9 million in 4Q09 (6.7% margin) and R$ 372.7 million in the Full Year 2009 (7.4% margin).
