BOSTON, Sept. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- WGBH's Emmy^® nominated series Rough Cut – Woodworking with Tommy Mac returns for a fourth season with new projects, new design inspiration, and expert techniques for the weekend warrior and the hardcore woodworker alike beginning Saturday, October 5, 2013 on public television (check local listings).

Season four kicks off with a bright red bent lamination chair featuring a unique geometric design that's perfect for any home. Continuing the season, Tommy brings his woodworking expertise to projects spanning from a beautiful art glass table lamp featuring triple-mitered corners, to Tommy's all-time favorite project – a baseball bat bed that's perfect for any kids room. In a very special episode this season, Tommy welcomes avid woodworker, friend, and Boston police commissioner Ed Davis to the shop to help build a Boston Strong memory box in memory of this year's Boston Marathon bombings. Designed to hold memories of a loved one, the box's design shows how easy it is to build this weekend project at home.

For inspiration, follow along with Tommy as he visits marquetry legend Silas Kopf, a shoji workshop in Queens, NY, the Axis Bat Factory in Fall River, MA, a glass-making school where artists work miracles with glass and fire, and Tremont Nail, one of the few steel manufacturers still making nails from scratch.

Within each half-hour episode, Tommy goes over the step-by-step process of building the project, while offering special "T-Mac tips" on technique. Joining Tommy in his shop are series favorites – Eli Cleveland, North Bennet Street School graduate, Boston-based woodworker Al D'Attanasio, and Steve Brown of the North Bennet Street School.
