BREA, Calif., Jan 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- American Suzuki is pleased to congratulate Rockstar Energy Racing on its first 450SX class win this past weekend at the opening round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross season in Anaheim, California. Team rider Davi Millsaps set the tone early by coming out strong on his 2013 RM-Z450 and winning his heat race. Millsaps then repeated his performance in the main event after grabbing the holeshot against what has been called the most competitive Supercross field in recent years. Millsaps led the majority of the race, but closed the show with a dramatic last-lap pass over Honda's Trey Canard. "This win for Rockstar Energy Racing was an amazing way to kick off the 17-round season," said American Suzuki Sales and Marketing Senior Director Larry Vandiver. "We are very pleased for the entire team, and would especially like to congratulate Davi on his incredible performance Saturday night aboard the 2013 RM-Z450."

"Everyone at Rockstar Energy Racing is very excited about our win at Anaheim #1," said Rockstar Energy Racing Team Owner Bobby Hewitt. "As a non-factory-supported team and privately-funded program by myself and Rockstar, everyone at Rockstar Energy Racing is very proud of our efforts and looks forward to Phoenix."
Millsaps is now leading the points for the 2013 Supercross season and will ride with the red plate at the next round of competition, scheduled for January 12 at Phoenix, Arizona.
