DURHAM, N.C., May 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- American Journal Experts (AJE) today announced the launch of its Best Practices Series, a collection of articles designed to help authors improve their writing and understanding of the scholarly publishing industry. The series is part of AJE's ongoing efforts to help international authors overcome language-based barriers to publishing research. The first article in the series, "Getting a Strong Start: Best Practices for Writing an Introduction," provides concrete advice for authors seeking to craft an opening to their research paper that drives home the significance of their study findings.

According to a 2012 study by Thomson Reuters, Global Publishing: Changes in Submission Trends and the Impact on Scholarly Publishers, developing countries such as China, India, Iran, and Korea have contributed a steadily increasing proportion of total submissions to scholarly journals between 2005 and 2010. Total acceptance rates among journals have declined in the same time period.
AJE's core mission is to help international researchers overcome barriers to publication – particularly the barrier of language mastery, which can prevent otherwise significant findings from being received by the global research community. It is in support of this mission that AJE developed its Education program and Expert Edge blog, and the articles in the Best Practices series will complement these resources by providing detailed, in-depth support on specific topics.
"AJE has always worked to eliminate barriers to publication and allow everyone to contribute their research to the global conversation," said Deric Corlew, Vice President of Manuscript Services at AJE. "Resources such as Expert Edge and the AJE Best Practices Series are the next step in using our expertise to help international researchers."
The first installment of this complimentary series is available for download at www.journalexperts.com.
