American Airlines Announces 'Celebrate Chicago' Initiative With AAdvantage Promotions and New Routes
FORT WORTH, Texas, April 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- To commemorate American's 84-year history in Chicago, American Airlines and American Eagle today introduced a year-long "Celebrate Chicago" initiative. The initiative includes a series of promotions beginning with a current AAdvantage® double-miles offer for travel on select routes and the new "More Great Cities" bonus offer, allowing customers to earn up to 100,000 AAdvantage bonus miles. These promotions, along with the introduction of new American Airlines and American Eagle flights, will be highlighted by other exciting programs that will be announced in coming months.
American Airlines and American Eagle are adding new flights to 16 destinations from Chicago O'Hare International Airport. Beginning April 6, and continuing through June 12, American and American Eagle will introduce these flights and offer passengers traveling to or from or connecting through Chicago even more choices. "More Great Cities" AAdvantage Bonus Miles Offer
To celebrate the new destinations from Chicago, Dallas and Miami, American is offering the "More Great Cities" bonus mile offer. Members who fly round trip to or from at least two of the new destinations below between April 9 and July 31, 2010, will earn AAdvantage bonus miles. Members can earn between 1,000 and 100,000 bonus miles based on the number of round trips flown to or from different eligible cities. Group and Meeting Discount for Chicago Meetings
As part of the Celebrate Chicago initiative, American is continuing its long-standing partnership with the Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau (CCTB) to further stimulate business and group travel to Chicago.
As a result, American today announced it is offering increased discounts to Chicago on group travel for domestic service, as well as an increased discount on international-point-of-sale travel. First Class on American Eagle
American Eagle will soon begin First Class service on all of its CRJ-700 jets. With the introduction of nine First Class seats, Eagle will offer customers a premium product complete with custom leather seating and a First Class dining experience. From Chicago, customers will experience First Class service on flights to Atlanta, Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C., Newark, N.J., George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Oklahoma City, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Philadelphia, San Antonio, and Salt Lake City. Customers may now purchase a First Class seat on any CRJ-700 flight for travel starting July 2.
