Amdocs Launches FTTx Operational Product Pack to Address Capacity Management
New preconfigured, out-of-the-box solution provides broadband access across fiber for faster time to market and lower total cost of ownership; Portugal's Optimus uses Amdocs for FTTH rollout
NICE, France, May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- At Management World Nice 2010, Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems, today announced the launch of its FTTx (Fiber to the x) Operational Product Pack. This pack is designed to support service providers as they expand capacity to meet the demands of today's bandwidth-hungry world.
This new preconfigured solution provides a complete package for the provision of broadband access across fiber, enabling a fast time to market and low total cost of ownership due to the automation of the fulfillment processes. Analyst firm Informa estimates that by 2013, one in every six broadband subscribers will be connected through FTTx(1). The FTTx Operational Product Pack is a new addition to Amdocs' CES 8 OSS pre-configured solution packs – the Amdocs Carrier Ethernet Operational Product Pack, Amdocs Backhaul Capacity Management Operational Product Pack and Amdocs Broadband Operational Pack – that help service providers expand and fulfill capacity in a cost-efficient manner.
Amdocs OSS products are already supporting customers as they roll out fiber. Portuguese service provider Optimus is using products from Amdocs' OSS portfolio for the modeling of physical and logical resources of its FTTH (Fiber to the home) rollout. The Amdocs solution provides Optimus with complete visibility of its network assets, enabling it to accurately identify which assets are being deployed for which services and for which customers. As a result, Optimus can allocate network resources and run service fulfillment processes more efficiently, and thereby receive more value from its network assets.
