Ambient Corporation Smart Grid Node Secures Vodafone Network Test Certification

NEWTON, Mass., July 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Ambient Corporation (NASDAQ: AMBT), a leading provider of secure, flexible and scalable smart grid communications and applications platforms, announced that the X-3100 Smart Grid Node has been approved to operate on the Vodafone network. To achieve Vodafone Approval status, the X-3100 node underwent rigorous technical evaluation by the Vodafone Test and Innovation Center in Germany. As a result, the node has passed the approval process for robustness and security, meeting the high standards demanded by Vodafone.

As Ambient extends its offering beyond North America to Europe and further afield, having the Vodafone test certification will mean that it helps to offer the Ambient Smart Grid® Platform to utilities internationally. Vodafone has a significant Machine-to-Machine (M2M) roaming footprint globally that can enable Ambient Smart Grid Nodes on many carrier networks.
