This list, which is the most comprehensive assessment of private companies in the U.S., celebrates the entrepreneurial nature of the nation's most innovative business endeavors.

To be included on Inc. Magazine's list companies must meet the following criteria: Be established and operating by March 31, 2011, remained a U.S.-based, privately held for profit and independent entity through December 31, 2014 and earned minimum revenue of $100,000 in 2011 and $2 million in 2014.
Making the Inc.5000 list puts AltaSource in the top 0.005 percent of all the privately held firms in the United States. That amounts to roughly one out of every 20,000 companies.
