Altar'd State Moves Headquarters to Maryville, TN
New Location Accommodates Brand's Long-Term Plans for Expansion
KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Altar'd State, a rapidly growing women's fashion brand with more than 70 boutiques throughout the Midwest, South, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions, announced today that it will be moving its headquarters to Maryville, TN in early 2017. After nearly seven years in its current location in Knoxville, TN, the company has purchased a property at 150 W. Church Avenue in Maryville, TN.
The move to the 40,000 square-foot building in Maryville will meet current needs around an expanding workforce and accommodate longer-term growth plans. Since Altar'd State's inception in 2009, the company has grown from 13 employees to more than 1,400 today, servicing 22 states. In the last three years, the brand has shown a 200 percent growth rate.
"Knoxville has been Altar'd State's home base since the first store opened nearly seven years ago, but when faced with our long-term growth plans we had to identify a space that would allow us the flexibility and freedom to evolve our brand over time," said Aaron Walters, Chairman and CEO of Altar'd State. "In so many ways Maryville is the perfect location to begin our next chapter and we look forward to fully integrating into this new community that we'll now call home."
Altar'd State's popularity is growing not only for its on-trend apparel and inspiring retail design, but also for its emphasis on giving back to charitable organizations locally and globally. During the brand's seven-year history the company has donated more than 2.5 million dollars to deserving organizations around the world. They have committed to building five schools serving areas in Peru, as well as sponsorships to feed, clothe and educate impoverished children. Local give-back efforts include a Mission Monday program that donates 10% of net proceeds to local non-profit charities, ranging from military personnel to the caring and feeding of the homeless.
The company plans to continue to express its philanthropic core values in Maryville, a city of more than 27,000 people nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains with a vibrant art community and popular destinations that celebrate the beauty and history of eastern Tennessee. Already, Altar'd State is working with Habitat for Humanity of Blount County to begin local projects to support the community.
"We are elated that Altar'd State has chosen our community to expand and grow," said Tom Taylor, City of Maryville Mayor. "The addition of the passion and energy of this young, thriving company will create a new level of vibrancy to our downtown and our community as a whole. We are thrilled to welcome them home."
A positive and family-friendly company culture is something Altar'd State has long upheld as paramount to the brand's success. The new park-side Maryville location will accommodate Altar'd State's dog-friendly office policy and allow both employees and pets to enjoy the nature paths and beautiful outdoor setting.
Employees will begin moving to the new headquarters in Maryville starting early in 2017.
