NORTHBROOK, Ill., Dec. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Allstate Fan Fest is back for its 11th year to serve as the backdrop for pre-game events and celebrations leading up to the 2017 Allstate® Sugar Bowl®. As college football fans descend on New Orleans to see Auburn University and University of Oklahoma face-off, the Crescent City will come alive at the Allstate Fan Fest on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, with performances by Jason Derulo and Panic! at the Disco.
This year's celebration will be bigger and better than ever with live concerts, school pep rallies, marching bands and activities for fans of all ages. For the first time, Allstate Fan Fest will be broadcast live on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2017" from Jackson Square for its first-ever Central Time Zone countdown. Festivities will begin at 7p.m. CST on ABC leading up to the fleur-de-lis drop at midnight in Jackson Square.
Grammy® Award-nominated Panic! at the Disco will grace the Allstate Fan Fest main stage for a free concert to ring in the New Year starting about 9 p.m., followed by American entertainer and pop sensation Jason Derulo at 10:45 p.m. Prior to the concerts, local favorite Preservation Hall Jazz Band will take the stage at 7:15 p.m. after America's Got Talent contestant and renowned performance painter David Garibaldi kicks off the evening at 6 p.m.
"Every year we look forward to providing the residents of New Orleans and thousands of college football fans with an experience they will remember for years to come," said Pam Hollander, vice president of marketing for Allstate Insurance Company. "This year is no exception. The Allstate Fan Fest is shaping up to be one of the biggest celebrations yet for the Crescent City, but also for fans all over the country who can tune into the excitement on ABC's 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2017.'"
Fans are encouraged to visit the Allstate Fan Fest Sweepstakes Prize Zone for a chance to win the grand prize package, which includes a Polaris®, Indian® or Victory® vehicle of the winner's choice, a team helmet and jersey and $10,000 in cash. Fans can also test out their legs by kicking field goals into the replica "Good Hands®" nets.
This year also marks the second annual Allstate® Sugar Bowl® New Year's Eve Parade, a Mardi Gras-style celebration with floats, bands and other participants including the 25th anniversary Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®. The parade begins at 3 p.m. on Dec. 31 at the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and Decatur Street, and will proceed past Jackson Square and the Allstate Fan Fest, ending at Canal Street.
In addition to celebrating the events that take place on the football field, Allstate will help shine a spotlight on the good deeds that take place off the field. Members of the 25th anniversary Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®, one of the most prestigious community service awards in college sports, will be recognized during halftime of the 2017 Allstate® Sugar Bowl®. For the ninth year, Allstate and members of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® will give back to the city of New Orleans by hosting a special football clinic for more than 250 children from the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission alongside college football legend Tim Tebow.
