PROVO, Utah, March 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Vivint, the largest home automation services provider in North America, experienced a fire today at its Lindon building, which houses call center operations for multiple departments of the company. All occupants were quickly and safely evacuated, with no major injuries reported.
Vivint's customer care services continue without interruption, and the fire did not interfere with customer alarm monitoring processes. The fire in the building, part of three interconnected buildings, caused approximately 300 Vivint employees to evacuate. Local fire crews responded to the fire including departments from Orem, Pleasant Grove and Provo.
"We would like to thank the fire departments that responded so quickly to the fire," said David Bywater, Vivint's chief operating officer. "We are also thankful that our employees were alert and reported the fire promptly after smelling smoke and hearing fire alarms. The well-being of our employees and customers is always our first priority."
Local fire officials continue to investigate the cause of the blaze.
