Air Quality and Source Emissions Testing Company, The Avogadro Group, Chosen for Federal Project Team to Investigate Validity of PM2.5 Sampling Methodologies

ANTIOCH, Calif., Jan. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Avogadro Group, an emission testing company headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area was one of a select number of companies nationwide chosen to work on a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) project to perform side-by-side analysis comparison of old and new PM2.5 emission testing methods.

By making several side-by-side comparisons of the old PM2.5 sampling method with the newly revised method, The Avogadro Group delivered results showing that the revisions to Method 202 changed this method from one that could produce a wide range of results and that suffered from interferences to a standardized method producing more consistent results with much less interference from SO2 or other stack gases.

The EPA has promulgated the new sampling method, which now gives every regulatory agency the opportunity to use the new method for more consistent, more accurate test results for PM2.5 emissions from stacks and exhausts.  The Avogadro Group is pleased to have been a team member in this research so important to new strategies for improving air quality.
