Ahtna Government Services Corporation and VeriTainer Corporation Announce Teaming Agreement
Firms team to deliver VeriTainer's Crane Mounted Scanning Solution
SACRAMENTO, Calif. and FREMONT, Calif., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Ahtna Government Services Corporation (Ahtna), headquartered in Sacramento, CA, and VeriTainer Corporation (VeriTainer), based in California's Silicon Valley, have formed a global, non-exclusive alliance to deliver VeriTainer's patented crane mounted scanning technology to ports around the globe. Ahtna has provided design, construction, and integration services for the deployment of land-based radiation detection systems since 2004. VeriTainer Corporation is the world leader in crane mounted scanning that is uniquely suited to address on-dock rail and transshipped cargo.
"At this point, the challenge in addressing transshipped containers traveling through the world's busiest ports has been widely acknowledged and having supported projects in more than 30 countries around the world, we've seen this gap firsthand " said Chris Smith, CEO and President of Ahtna. "The VeriTainer crane mounted solution helps solve this very difficult challenge. Throughout 2009, we have worked closely with VeriTainer and have invested resources to position ourselves to assist in the deployment of this much needed technology," Smith went on to say.
"In just the last few months, two comprehensive analyses have been issued recommending crane mounted scanning. One was the basis for a Request for Proposal issued out of the Middle East and both recommended VeriTainer, and VeriTainer only, as the provider of crane mounted scanning," said Kevin Orchard, managing Director of VeriTainer UK limited. Orchard continued, "I'm now seeing high levels of interest from all corners of the globe and am very pleased to have a partner capable of helping us meet this demand."
Ahtna and VeriTainer both have extensive experience in the field, a critical component for success. With Ahtna's many implementations and VeriTainer's highly successful field work, the two firms stand ready to deliver this much needed technology to the marketplace.
"The goal is to bring physical security to the global population and the supply chain it so heavily relies on, while not impeding the free-flow of the world's commerce," said John Alioto, CEO of VeriTainer. "We are very pleased to be working with a firm as experienced and accomplished as Ahtna to achieve this very important objective."
