Absolute Software Issued Patent for a "Persistent Servicing Agent"
New Patent Reinforces the Value of Absolute Persistence Technology and Strengthens Governance, Risk Management and Compliance Solutions Offering
VANCOUVER, April 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ - Absolute® Software Corporation (TSX: ABT), the industry standard for persistent endpoint security and management solutions for computers, laptops and ultra-portable devices announced today it has been issued patent # 8,418,226, dated April 9, 2013, by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a persistent servicing agent.
The patent covers a persistent servicing agent installed in the read-only memory (ROM) in any electronic device to enable and assure the provision of various (data and device) services, including but not limited to data deletion, firewall protection, data encryption, location tracking, message notification and updating software. The patent also incorporates the method of automatic notification that all of the data has been remotely wiped from the device, an essential data protection solution that our customers rely upon to prove compliance with data breach notification laws.
