WASHINGTON, March 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- AARP, the world's largest membership organization, and NBC, today announced they are teaming up to bring Emmy Award-winning journalist Jane Pauley back to the Today show beginning March 9, 2010. One of the most respected figures in broadcast journalism and AARP's "Ambassador of Your Life Calling," Pauley will head back to morning television as a contributor for Today and be featured in a new monthly series, Your Life Calling with Jane Pauley, reported on and produced by Pauley and AARP. Your Life Calling will highlight people age 50+ from across the country who have reinvented the way they work and/or live to pursue their life's calling.

"I've been thinking and talking about 'reinvention' for more than 20 years," said Pauley. "'Your Life Calling' will feature people who've interpreted reinvention in a wide variety of ways. I hope our stories will inspire everyone to move toward the future with a positive new spirit, focus and energy—with a little help from a powerful team; my new partners AARP and my old friends on the Today show on NBC."
Each month, Pauley will shine a spotlight on people who, by choice or necessity, are trying new things, whether it's starting new careers, learning new skills, changing how they live, or finally pursuing their dreams. Upcoming segments will feature a woman who left a lucrative career to start a knitting business and an Oregon couple who sold their suburban home and beloved racing sailboat to buy a ranch and raise alpacas.
"This new series that AARP is doing with the Today show is truly the product of Jane's fascination and commitment to the topic of personal reinvention," added Kevin Donnellan, Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, AARP. "I couldn't think of a better person than Jane to take the lead on a series profiling inspirational people who have decided that now is the time to pursue their goals and passions."
An expanded version of each monthly segment will be available on www.AARP.org/Jane where viewers can learn more about the featured people and pursuits, and read exclusive content from Pauley. Additionally, on the day of each monthly broadcast, Pauley will participate in a one-hour, LIVE online chat with visitors who join her at www.AARP.org/Jane. The first chat is scheduled to begin at noon EST on Tuesday, March 9.
"When you think about it, AARP knows more about my generation than almost anybody else and I'm proud to have them as my partner in this adventure," added Pauley. "We share a practical take on Reinvention. It's a learning process. It takes planning and preparation. And I want people to not be paralyzed by the misconception that reinvention requires a total makeover, or that you've got to get it right the first time."
Your Life Calling with Jane Pauley is produced by AARP in cooperation with Today on NBC. Additional information and full segments can be found online at www.AARP.org/Jane.
