A. Schulman Appoints Patrick Speek as European Finance Director

AKRON, Ohio, June 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- A. Schulman, Inc. (Nasdaq-GS: SHLM) announced today that it has named Patrick Speek to the position of European Finance Director, effective today.  He will lead the Company's finance teams for its European operations and will report to Bernard Rzepka, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer, Europe, and Paul DeSantis, Chief Financial Officer.

Speek comes to A. Schulman with extensive financial experience in a variety of disciplines including international tax and compliance issues, team management, controlling, forecasting and budgeting.

Most recently, he was Vice President of Finance International for JLG Industries, a division of Oshkosh Corporation.  His previous positions included Chief Financial Officer for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Fluke, a division of Danaher Corporation, and EMEA Controller for General Electric Corporate.  He also was a tax auditor for the Dutch Tax Authorities.

He is a Dutch Chartered Accountant (RA) and has a degree as Dutch Tax Auditor.
