The company plans to add more than 25 new jobs and invest approximately $500,000 at its facility in Flemingsburg, Ky., according to David J. Nenno, president and CEO of A Raymond Corporate North America, the firm's U.S.-based holding company.
Nenno said that the company is increasing its customer base outside of the automotive sector and expects to add products for the solar-energy and building industries at the Flemingsburg plant. The facility currently produces window-channel guides, sunroof components and structural parts for the auto industry.
Plant Manager Bill Breeze noted that the company recently celebrated its 50th anniversary as a corporate citizen in Flemingsburg. The plant has been expanded four times since opening.
Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear, local government officials and A Raymond Tinnerman executives announced the expansion program at a press conference at the plant. The company has received approval from the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority for tax incentives of up to $515,000 to offset its investment in the expansion project.
A Raymond acquired Tinnerman Palnut Engineered Products of Brunswick, Ohio, in late 2009 to form A Raymond Tinnerman in North America. The new organization is divided into two primary business units – A Raymond Tinnerman Automotive based in Rochester Hills, Mich., and A Raymond Tinnerman Industrial in Brunswick, Ohio.
A Raymond Tinnerman has more than 700 employees at five plants in the U.S. and Canada and is part of the A Raymond group based in Grenoble, France.
A Raymond consists of 34 companies with 19 manufacturing facilities and 10 engineering centers around the world. Its automotive products include interior, exterior, powertrain, fluid-carrying and electrical products.
In addition, A Raymond serves a number of other markets, including the building, solar-power, medical, agricultural and consumer-products sectors. More information is available online at www.araymond.com.
