San JOSE, Calif., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- A10 Networks today announced that its 64-bit AX Series Application Delivery Controller family was named as a Finalist in the Best of TechEd 2010 awards program in the Networking category by Penton Media's Windows IT Pro® and SQL Server Magazine®.
The Best of TechEd 2010 awards recognize companies that offer innovative products to the industry. The judging panel reviewed 298 products and services submitted for the contest and chose 35 finalists to be interviewed at the Microsoft TechEd North America 2010 IT pro conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. Winners will be determined at the show, then announced at an invitation-only evening reception at the Hard Rock Cafe on June 9th. Winners will also be announced on the Tech Ed exhibitor's floor on June 10th at 1:00 pm, and will be published online at http://www.windowsitpro.com and http://northamerica.msteched.com.
"We amended our category choices this year to be more reflective of the products on the market in alignment with Microsoft Tech Ed categories," said Jason Bovberg, Senior Editor of Windows IT Pro®. "Close to 300 products and services were nominated this year. Narrowing down the list of nominees to 35 finalists, from so many highly qualified products and services, was an exhaustive process for our judging panel. We're proud of our selections, and we believe our finalists represent the best of the best in their categories. As always, we chose them based on their innovation, strategic importance to the market, competitive advantage and exceptional value to customers," remarked Bovberg.

"Our 64-bit AX Series platforms have set a new milestone of innovation in the application delivery market with the industry's first 64-bit Operating System specifically designed for Application Delivery Controllers and Server Load Balancers," said Lee Chen, Founder and CEO of A10 Networks. "Customers of all sizes with Microsoft applications, especially the new generation 64-bit Microsoft applications, will receive tremendous benefit and competitive advantage with unparalleled scalability, performance and efficiency for their data center application deployments."
A10's 64-bit AX Series family is designed to provide Application Delivery and Server Load Balancing functionality for medium to large enterprises, web sites and ISPs/carriers. Running on A10's 64-bit Advanced Core Operating System (ACOS) architecture, the 64-bit appliances extend the AX Series family with increased scalability, delivering high performance ranging from 10 Gbps to 40 Gbps throughput in the most compact, energy efficient platforms.
The 64-bit AX models continue A10's tradition of including all features and maximum performance without additional software license fees for features or performance to reduce CAPEX costs. Each of the 64-bit AX models employ "green" features to reduce power consumption, such as efficient airflow and Solid-state Drives (SSD), which also further enhance system reliability and performance. Significantly, the 64-bit AX models run the new 64-bit ACOS, which unleashes each processor, core and thread from the 32-bit OS 4-GB addressable memory limit, enhancing performance and available resources for unprecedented scalability.
