4 Star Camps Raises Money to Help Fund a School in Haiti
FALLS CHURCH, Va., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- 4 Star Camps has announced plans to donate a portion of every 2010 registration to help build a school in earthquake-ravaged Haiti. Lisa Popple, CEO, said, "Education is central to our camp experience, and we believe helping Haiti's students is the best support we can provide. Quality schools are key to the success of all countries." 4 Star Camps President Mitch Popple has talked with several fellow Rotary International members who have personally seen Haiti's devastation. He is hoping to secure matching grants through the Rotary Foundation to further assist this initiative.
Later this year, 4 Star Camps expects to send staff to Haiti to assist in the actual building of the school. In subsequent years, goals will include providing funding for school supplies and equipment, and encouraging staff and clients to consider service projects in Haiti. "Many of our college counselors and high school campers have already participated in service projects here and abroad. Our camp attracts college-bound students and leaders from all over the world who understand that community service is a vital educational and personal commitment," said Popple.
