37 Of Long Island's Most Beautiful And Accomplished Young Women Are Set To Compete For The Coveted Titles Of Miss Long Island® And Miss Long Island Teen® This Sunday, August 11th
PATCHOGUE, N.Y., Aug. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- For the last 2 consecutive years, the winner of the Long Island pageant has advanced to WIN Donald Trump's New York USA Pageant. This year, 37 Long Island girls between the ages of 13-26 will take the stage at Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts with the hope of following in their footsteps and bringing Long Island its first New York State triple crown!
In August 2012, Sabrina Mastrangelo of Bellmore won the Miss LI Teen title, went on to win the Miss New York Teen USA honors, and placed in the Top 16 at the national Teen USA pageant. This Sunday, she will be the celebrity co-host of the Long Island 2014 pageant. Last August, Nikki Orlando of Nesconset won the Miss LI Teen title and also went on to win the New York Teen USA crown later that year! Right now, Nikki is in the Bahamas competing for the national MISS TEEN USA 2013 title, and will fly home first thing Sunday morning to appear at the Long Island Pageant. If she wins on Saturday night, the LI Pageant will be her first appearance as the new national queen.
Both Mastrangelo and Orlando, as well as every Long Island Pageant titleholder since 2008, were directed, managed and coached by Lori Thomas, a former beauty queen herself and the founder and executive director of the Long Island pageant. Thomas will again host this year's LI Pageant on Sunday, this time, sharing the stage with Mastrangelo.
