2014 Survey: Find out how many employees are watching porn on company time
LYNCHBURG, Va., Aug. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Nearly two-thirds (63%) of men admit to viewing porn while their bosses assume they are busy working. More than a third (36%) of women are also sneaking a peak at porn while on the job. The rate for self-identified Christian men and women virtually mirrors these national averages. Those and other details about viewing porn at work are documented in a new survey by Proven Men Ministries (www.ProvenMen.org) and conducted by Barna Group among a nationally representative sample of 1,000 U.S. adults nationwide.
The just-released survey revealed that some of the most frequent porn viewers at work consists of men between ages 31 to 49 or men making over $75,000, with three-fourths of both of those groups admitting to watch porn at work. Nearly one-half (46%) of women between 31 and 49 are also watching porn at work. Married men are also more likely to watch porn at work than single men, with over three-fourths (77%) of married men admitting to viewing pornography at work compared to slightly over one-half (56%) of single men. The full survey also contains data pertaining to those watching porn while at work according to income, education, marital status, and religion, and can be accessed at www.ProvenMen.org/2014PornStudy/PornUseAtWork.
What can be done?
"Threatening to fire employees or installing Internet blocks on work computers has not curbed the ever increasing rise of pornography viewing at work," according to Joel Hesch, who sponsored the survey and is the founder of Proven Men Ministries.
"What we are seeing at work is a reflection of what is going on privately at home," Hesch said. "The real benefit in the workforce will occur only once men get their priorities in place at home and develop new mindsets. One incredible benefit from addressing the root issues is that workers will not only be less distracted but more dedicated to be harder workers."
Proven Men Ministries has developed a 12-week system to help men overcome pornography addiction, including a 12-week course of study, a leadership guide and a book on sexual integrity—all available on Amazon. Our website also has free resources.
"This program requires a commitment to intense work over 12 weeks to establish a foundation for change. But without it, you risk everything, including your job and marriage, as you struggle to keep living within a secret world."
