2008 SulAmerica Online Annual Report Named Best in Latin America
Company Announced Same Online Annual Report Format to be used for Release of 2009 Results
RIO DE JANEIRO, April 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sul America S.A. (BM&FBOVESPA: SULA11) won the category for "Best Online Annual Report in Latin America" at the 12th annual assessment of the IR Global Rankings. SulAmerica's 2008 Annual Report was the insurance company's first fully online report and included trendy and user-friendly innovations, with videos and functionalities for faster and more interactive browsing.
The award ceremony for winners in Latin America was held yesterday in Sao Paulo, during a conference at which the most recent trends in Investor Relations were highlighted. That same day, SulAmerica released their 2009 Annual Report, once again in the successful fully online format.
"The online annual report provides easier access to information, while offering the reader a more dynamic and interactive experience. Communication is open, transparent and targeted for all of SulAmerica's stakeholders," said Arthur Farme d'Amoed Neto, the company's Vice President of Investor Relations, who also pointed out as strong points the initiative's interactivity and sustainability. "Everyone can browse the Internet for content that is interesting to them, in their preferred format, with access to much more information and, better still, greatly reducing consumption of paper, energy and ink."
The annual assessment, performed by MZ Consult, has one of the broadest scopes in terms of classifying IR websites, corporate governance practices and financial release procedures. The study is based on a broad and detailed assessment of over 100 items and is produced by a team of Investor Relations specialists and reviewed by an independent committee, with support from KPMG, Arnold & Porter, The Bank of New York Mellon, NYSE Euronext, Bloomberg, and Corporate Asia Network.
