In early January, the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition concluded its annual week of judging at the Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds in Sonoma County, California. Over five days, 63 professional wine experts tasted and evaluated a world-record breaking 4,913 entries.
"We're thrilled the panel chose our Mirassou Cabernet Sauvignon as a 'Best of Class' Cab," said David Mirassou, 6th generation of America's oldest winemaking family. "Our Cab displays deep rich blackberry and black currant flavors. One of my favorite ways to enjoy a glass of our Cabernet Sauvignon is with a grilled flank steak and my friends and family."
Mirassou Winery has a rich heritage of crafting superior wines in the sun-drenched of hills of California. As America's oldest winemaking family, Mirassou wines embody the spirit of joy and optimism that is so much a part of its sunny California history.
Mirassou wines are fruit-forward and pair beautifully with many different foods. The Mirassou California Cabernet Sauvignon is especially delicious when paired with one of the winery's many recipes, such as the Grilled Flank Steak with Italian Salsa Verde, the Cabernet Braised Short Ribs and even a Flourless Mocha Torte.
