THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., Dec. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- JoJo Siwa, the 13-year-old pop star sensation, dancer, and social media guru, has announced she will be riding the Lucy Pet's Gnarly Crankin' K9 Wave Maker 2017 Tournament of Roses Parade float on Jan. 2 in Pasadena, Calif. An avid pet lover with three dogs, this is Siwa's first time riding a float in the Annual Tournament of Roses Parade.
"I am so excited to be a part of my first Rose Parade," said the vivacious teen. "Lucy Pet is the perfect float for me to ride on because I love animals and want to help them. I also know Lucy Pet's float is going to break another Guinness World Record this year."
This year's truly unique Lucy Pet's float will set a Guinness World Record for the longest and heaviest in Rose Parade history. Its theme will be that of a beachside paradise complete with an 8,000 gallon wave making machine and a group of surfing dogs that were selected from auditions that were held all across the country.
"We couldn't be happier to have such a great young talent be part of the Lucy Pet's Gnarly Crankin' K9 Wave Maker Rose Parade float," said Joey Herrick, founder of the Lucy Pet Foundation.
Herrick also added, "It's a perfect match since JoJo cares so deeply about animals especially dogs and cats. The Lucy Pet Foundation is so grateful to JoJo for helping us raise awareness of pet over population and the 80,000 dogs and cats that are euthanized weekly in the United States. We know she is going to have an experience she will never forget."
The Lucy Pet Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) registered animal charity with the mission to reduce pet over population using mobile spay/neuter clinics across the country. Its goal is to reduce the euthanasia of more than 80,000 cats and dogs per week across the United States.
